About Library
The Inter University Centre for Teacher Education, BHU, Varanasi library collectively supports the Institute's teaching, research, and extension programs. The library has the necessary infrastructure and facilities in order to meet the information requirements of faculty members, employees of the Centre, and participants of the program from various universities and institutions. The library has good space for both the collection and the patrons with natural light, comfortable seating, chairs & tables, and other amenities. The library has a comprehensive collection of physical textbooks, reference books, magazines, journals, reports, and other printed materials. The library has a computerized book catalogue that can be searched through the library intranet.
Library Collection
At present, the library has a collection of nearly 3000 documents. The library has a collection of books broadly covering the subjects of Education, Higher education, Philosophy, Psychology, Vedas, physics, astrology, Indian Knowledge System (IKS), literature, etc. The library has also subscribed ONOS resources to its user community. The library also has tools like plagiarism software (Drillbit) for similarity check and Grammarly software for enhancing writing quality.
Library Services
The library has a reading room where users can consult any documents of their needs within the library. The open-access system allows the readers to lay their hands directly to the documents of their interest. The reference documents are to be consulted only during office hours within the library. The reading room facility available in the library helps to utilize the reference materials. Apart from that, the library has also offered various facilities to its users like book lending services, collaboration learning space, Document delivery service, Remote Access facility, OPAC search facility, Digital Library Services, Research support services, reference services, etc.
Library timing
The Library is open from 09:00 AM to 05.30 PM (Monday to Friday) excluding Saturday, Sunday, and gazetted holidays.
